Eagle Families, This is Principal McGeachy with a few announcements as we head into week 3 of the 2023-24 school year. First, continue to remind your scholars to check their school email accounts for important information from our school counselor and teachers. If your scholar is enrolled in college courses, it is equally important for them to check their college email accounts. Secondly, a reminder that parents picking up scholars at dismissal should continue to park while waiting for their scholar rather than forming a car line. Thirdly, a huge "thank you" to the members of the Academic Booster Club for providing breakfast to our staff last Friday. Your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated. Lastly, please check our website for other updates related to our school and your scholar. Thank you for your continued support and enjoy the rest of your evening.

Good Morning, Eagle Families! A reminder that today is an early dismissal day, and scholars will be dismissed at 1:00 PM. Parents picking up scholars from the D. Building parking lot are asked to park while waiting rather than forming a car line. This will increase safety in the area. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Eagle Families, This is Principal McGeachy with an update. Today, we conducted a practice lockdown drill with the assistance of the Nash Co. Sheriff's Dept. All staff and scholars followed the appropriate procedures.

Good evening, Eagle Families! This is Principal McGeachy. We have completed the first week of school, and now our scholars are about to enter their second week. I am pleased with the manner in which our scholars conducted themselves as they adjusted to their academic routines, and I think they all enjoyed themselves during Friday’s Celebration on the Lawn. Here are your reminders for the upcoming week: 1. In accordance with state guidance, we will be conducting emergency drills in the upcoming days. These drills are intended to ensure that our staff and students are prepared in the unlikely event that an emergency should arise and include a fire drill, bus evacuation drill, tornado drill, and lockdown drill. 2. With the help of our scholars, we have created a demonstration video that depicts the use of the Evolv weapons detection security system. You may recall that the district shared information about this system last week. The video has been posted on our school’s website. 3. I encourage parents and guardians to sign up for Parent Portal so you can keep up with your scholar’s grades and attendance in PowerSchool. Also, don’t forget to download the NCPS app to stay abreast of important information related to our school. 4. This week, traffic on campus will be more congested based on continued road construction on Old Carriage Road combined with the start of Nash Community College classes on Tuesday. Please continue to visit our web page and use the NCPS app to get important updates on your scholar. Enjoy your evening!

Eagles, thank you for making today a wonderful first day of school and for helping us get the 2023-2024 school year started off right! Don't forget that college classes start Tuesday, August 15th. We ask scholars that drive to use the parking lots that are located at the front of Nash Community's campus. Do not park in the Building D lot located at the Vet. Tech building. Good Evening, Eagle Families! This is Principal McGeachy. I hope that everyone had a relaxing summer break! We are excited to welcome our scholars back to school tomorrow, August 7th, as we begin our 20th year of educating scholars. I have just a few points to address. If your scholar is riding a bus, please know that we will meet with all scholars during their classes and identify any transportation issues so that we can address those quickly. Also, please assist us in ensuring that your scholar complies with the district's dress code policy. You can review the dress code policy by clicking the Student Handbook link found under the About Us tab located on our webpage. The web page also includes other important information including dates of interest. Have a great evening, and again we look forward to greeting scholars tomorrow morning.
