Last week I placed a plea to parents to not allow your students to bring toys to school. Thank you for helping us. Please keep helping us by keeping all toys at home, this includes Pokeymon Cards. Students trade things without permission and it always ends with someone losing their property. So it is best to keep these things at home.
This Friday, October 4th, we will have our first Goodies with Guardians event. This year I am having this time to be shared with only parents and me. Students will be in their instructional time this Friday. I want our time to focus on how parents can help us raise achievement. I also want to share important information with you and have a great time with adult fellowship. We will come together for the most important reason of all, your children! We will have our Goodies Time from 9-10am. Please come to enjoy some goodies and learn what is happening at your child’s school this year.
This week I will be sharing our School Improvement Plan with district officials. AS soon as that is complete and approved, I will place the plan on our website for your review.
Tuesday, October 8th, we will have a Parent-Teacher Team (PTT) Meeting at 6pm in the School Media Center. We will discuss fundraiser progress and learn more about projects for the PTT.
Lastly, I want to mention Attendance. We will discuss this at our event on October 4th, but the easiest way to help our school to achieve is by your child attending every day. We know that sickness can prevent this, but attendance to school every day they are well will help prepare them for our Superbowl at the end of the year which is the mClass EOY or the End Of Grade Test. Being chronically late is another issue that could hurt the learning process. Being 20 minutes late each day can cause 100 minutes of lost learning each week. That is a whole class missed. Please help by being here and being here on time.
Thank you for your attention and it is a pleasure serving as your Principal.
