Weekly Reminders

Please be reminded that Monday is a Holiday for Veteran's Day. There is no school Monday, November 11, 2024.

Tuesday through Friday will be a regular schedule this week at the Nest.

Tuesday evening, we will have our monthly Parent-Teacher Team Meeting in the Media Center. We will meet from 6- 7 PM. All parents are invited. We will have updates on the new school sign, the new playground and upcoming events. This is a great time to come support our school.

The Spring Hope Elementary Food drive ended this past Friday, if you did not get to drop off your donation, I am sure we can sneak it in on Tuesday.

Please be reminded that the Breakfast line will close at 8:15 each morning. The tardy bell rings at 8:00. We try to get as many students to class without signing in as possible, but once the 8:00 bell rings, the doors are shut and parents must park and sign in students to go to class. Please help us by arriving at school with enough time to get breakfast and get to class on time. Instruction starts at 8:00.

Arriving late misses instructional time, but leaving early misses instructional time as well. Most of our Math instruction is in the afternoon. If a student chronically leaves early, crucial instruction is missed that can not be made up. We understand dr. appointments are important, but please keep instruction in mind when checking your child out early.

This week, students in grades 4 and 5 will be trained on utilizing the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System. The system allows students and staff to anonymously report safety concerns to a national multilingual crisis center that is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Students will learn how to use the system and how to spot signs of at-risk behaviors, potential violence and other safety concerns that should be reported. Submitted tips are received by a national multilingual crisis center, then sent to local school leaders and, when necessary, to local 911 centers for immediate response. This system gives our students and staff an additional tool to prevent acts of violence and provide assistance to students in crisis. Say Something is intended to be used by students in grades 4-12, and by staff, and is currently utilized by our middle and high schools. More than 5,000 schools nationwide are using this program, which is offered by Sandy Hook Promise, a national nonprofit organization.

Thanks for your attention and it is a pleasure to serve as your Principal.
