This week will be a regular schedule week at the nest. However, we are getting close to the Holiday season so attendance is always important, but can be even more vital as we get close to missing days for the holidays out of school.
Tuesday evening, we will have our monthly Parent -Teacher Team meeting from 6-7PM in the school media center. I hope you can attend as support for our school.
I know many of you may have heard about the loss of one of our students last week. Christopher “Bean” Rizzo passed away after a long battle with Leukemia last Wednesday evening. He would have been in school with our current third grade students this year and was in school last year with his friends in the second grade. Our hearts still go out to his family at this time. I have been asked to allow something to be done in his honor. So, this Wednesday, November 20, I am asking that we all wear orange to celebrate one of our own. I will send out a reminder on Tuesday. This is strictly voluntary, but I think it would show our love for one of our classmates and our community.
Next week we will be out of school to celebrate Thanksgiving with families beginning November 27 through November 29. We will return to school on December 2nd.
As we get closer to the Holiday season, children get more excited, please remind and encourage your child to listen to the teachers and work hard so we can enjoy our celebrations at the appropriate times.
