Welcome back to school in 2025! Happy New Year to all of you and I hope you had a meaningful Christmas Break! I know All of you, Parents, are ready for school to be back in session!
First, I want to remind everyone of the upcoming weather forecasts. Very cold weather is approaching. Please be sure coats, hats and gloves are ready for the bus stops this week and please remind your child to get them at the end of the day each day. Also, please be mindful of any schedule changes as weather can always be an issue at this time of year.
Several face book posts have been shared about the upcoming days in January that are set as workdays and shortened schedule days. I will be including these days in your email and on Facebook again for convenience.
This week at the nest, we will begin our Middle of the year (MOY) assessments. We will begin with Mclass reading assessments. These assessments are vital to planning and to see progress with our reading instruction. These assessments will also be used in promotion decisions at the end of the year. Please encourage your child to follow teacher instructions when administering these assessments.
Grades 3-5 will be taking Benchmark Assessments at the end of this month and the beginning of February. These scores will direct our teachers where to go with instruction as well as promotion decisions in the Spring. Please encourage you upper grades child to try and take their time to be successful in these assessments.
Please be reminded that late arrivals and early check outs do affect learning and instruction. Please do your best to protect our instructional time.
As a heads up, we will have a parent Teacher Meeting at the school on January 14th. Please attend if you can to help support the school.
Thank you for your support and it is a pleasure to serve as your Principal! See you all tomorrow morning!
