Weekly Reminders

I want to thank all of our parents for getting our students here and on time this past week. We had 100% here to test on every test except reading and we only missed one student who was really sick, so that is great! We will make sure that student gets a great opportunity to shine without missing any of the fun things happening.

We are studying the scores and this week we are administering the Read To Achieve test to 3rd grade students who have not yet met the 725 score for the RtA requirement for North Carolina 3rd graders.

In reviewing scores from the Math and Reading EOG, we will form groups of students to remediate and offer an Added Opportunity to help them reach growth. We need more students to reach a 3, 4 or 5 on the Reading and Math EOG. This extra test opportunity will give them that opportunity. I will be sending home an invitation for the remediation day and test days which are set for June 9th as the remediation day and June 10th and 11th for the extra opportunity Test Days. Buses will run their routes for these days to provide transportation.

Wednesday of this week, we will have our Senior Walk where seniors who attended SHES will come and walk through the halls of the school for cheers from students and parents. This year we are adding our kindergarten students to the walk with a special shirt and cap for the occasion. Parents are invited to come cheer for this as well. We asked our Kindergarten parents to reserve a shirt with Ms. Pendergrass for this event. They are here and we are ready for Wednesday at 2:00 for the walk. Seniors and Parents can start arriving at 1:30 to get their spot for the parade in the hall.

Thursday is our annual Awards Day Celebration with K-2 Starting at 8:30 and 3-5 starting at 10:00. Our kindergarten students will where their shirts and our 5th grade will have shirts for them as they now transition to the Middle School.  Please mark your calendars for this special day.

Friday is our last day of school for students for the 2024-2025 school year.

Thanks for your support and as always, it is a pleasure to serve as your Principal.
